Your privacy is important to us. We adhere to the applicable national and international standards on data protection, i.e. the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This policy explains data processing activities of EURANOVA (“we” or “us”) with respect to your personal data and helps you make informed decisions about your relationship with us. This statement applies to our use of information in customer relations, recruitment process, and our website. From time to time, we revise and update this privacy statement to make sure that you are provided with the most recent information. Please, visit this page periodically for changes.
Collection and Use of Personal Data
Our core business is not the collection of your personal data. However, in the course of our activities and for ensuring the effective operation of EURANOVA, we may collect some of your personal data. Personal data means any data that personally identifies you or makes you identifiable.
When we collect your personal data, we ask for your consent, or we rely on other legitimate grounds specified by law. This could be the case when EURANOVA has a legitimate interest in collecting your personal data or the law requires us to collect data in certain circumstances. We exclusively collect your personal data under the following occasions:
1. Prospects and Customer relations
If we are interested in having a customer relationship with you or if you already are a customer of EURANOVA, we collect the data hereafter in order to be able to engage with you and create or/and maintain a professional relationship. When you actually become our customer, we process this data also for the purpose of effectively performing our contractual obligations with you and to protect EURANOVA’s legitimate interest and improve our services.
The personal data processed may include
- Your name, address, business ID, Business Role, Phone number
- Invoicing information
- Your expression of interest
- Other customer information, such as the number and names of employees using our services
- Information on prospective customers
- A summary of past interactions
Please note that if you are part of our prospects process, the purpose of the processing here is to initiate or develop business relationships in the interest of both parties.
The personal data collected are only the ones that you gave to us and/or the one made publicly available on network platforms such as LinkedIn etc. You can at any time contact us to opt-out of any kind of correspondence with us.
We keep these personal data until 5 years after our last communication or as long as required by the law. If you are not interested any more to have any kind of professional relationship with EURANOVA you can ask us to delete it, and we will apply your request unless we are legally required to retain it.
2. Recruitment
In search of new talents and expertise, our recruitment officers proactively look for brilliant people to join our growing business. In the course of our search for new talents, we may collect your personal information available in your public professional social media profiles such as LinkedIn and other similar websites only when you agree to be contacted, and or professional directories and job boards such as Apec, Monster, etc. We only collect the data relevant to the recruitment process such as your contact details, academic degrees, certifications, and work experience. We use this data for the sole purposes of contacting you as a potential candidate for a position at EURANOVA at a reasonable time or for providing statistical analysis which helps us improve our recruitment practices.
In the course of our interview process, we may also provide you with a link to our logbook platform, which allows you to add additional information about your skills and background. When you provide us with your information on such a platform, we will ask for your consent to use your personal data for the recruitment purposes and share your data with potential customers to assess your fitness for the customer’s project. We may contact you if your profile fits our desired set of skills for a new position.
Moreover, in the event that we make an offer to you, and as far as local legislation permits, we may conduct pre-engagement screening checks that may include but are not limited to your professional and academic qualifications, your eligibility to work in the relevant jurisdiction, any criminal records, your financial stability and references from previous employers. The successful results of such screening may be shared with the clients for which you will be performing consulting services. We will ask for your consent before initiating such a screening when and if such screening is necessary for the position, for which, you will be recruited.
We keep your data for up to 5 years and continuously consider them in our recruitment process, unless you ask us to remove it earlier.

When you give your consent we use cookies to improve the content of our website and to collect aggregated anonymous information to understand better how you use our website.
4. NovaHack and Other Competitions
By signing up for any competition or Hackathon organised by EURANOVA including Novhack, you agree to provide us with certain information about you and your team including your name, your date of birth, your university, your degree, the year of study, and your contact details and address.
This information allows us to organise the competition. For example, we may use your information to merge incomplete groups with a different one, or we may use your address to send you goodies and other information about the hackathon.

Disclosure and Data Sharing
In some circumstances, we may share your information with a third party. This is the case when:
- You explicitly allowed us to do so
- We have a legal obligation to disclose your information to authorities
- To pursue EURANOVA’s legitimate interest, as for example for the defence of a legal claim.
Your personal information may be transferred outside of Belgium, including to countries that do not provide an adequate level of protection for your personal data. As requested by European Law, in this case, EURANOVA is still committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the transferred personal data. In fact, where such transfers occur, we will assure that adequate protection exists through providing appropriate safeguards as required by law (e.g. Standard data protection clauses (SCCs); ad hoc contractual clauses, etc.).
Data Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place appropriate technical, physical, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect, and we apply our formal Information Security Program to define policies, standards and procedures applicable through the organisation (such as data encryption at rest and in transit, data minimisation etc.). When necessary, we review and update our security measures to integrate state-of-the-art technology and procedures.
Controlling your Personal Data
EURANOVA is committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring your data subject rights. As a data subject, you have specific rights regarding your personal data and these include: right to access, right to rectification, right to erasure, right to restrict processing, right to data portability, right to object, the right to withdraw consent and the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing. We are committed to responding to your inquiries and requests promptly. Typically, we will respond within one month of receiving your request. Please be aware that in certain cases, if necessary, we may ask you to provide proof of identity, to ensure that your request comes from the rightful owner of the data concerned.
