Watch the replay: automating GDPR compliance with AI
Did you miss our presentation at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Law (ICAIL)? You can now watch the full video replay online!
We are happy to share the presentation of our paper, “A Combined Rule-based and Machine Learning Approach to Automate GDPR Compliance Checking.” This cutting-edge research is the result of a powerful collaboration between the legal and AI team at the SMART Law Hub (HEC Paris) and the data privacy research track at Euranova.
Together, our teams joined forces to build smart solutions that streamline the processing of privacy policies and ensure robust GDPR compliance. The acceptance of this paper at ICAIL 2021—the leading, triple peer-reviewed conference at the intersection of Law and Artificial Intelligence—highlights the significance and innovation of this joint venture.
Meet the Team
This interdisciplinary breakthrough was made possible by bringing together academic minds and R&D engineers. The authoring team includes:
From HEC Paris: David Restrepo Amariles (Associate Professor of Law), Aurore Troussel Clément (HEC .18 and Lawyer at the Paris Bar), Rajaa El Hamdani (Incoming Ph.D. student HEC/Polytechnique), and Sébastien Meeùs (Research Assistant).
From Euranova: Majd Mustapha and Katherine Krasnoschok (R&D Engineers).
Reflecting on the project, David Restrepo Amariles noted:
“This paper for ICAIL 2021 was an exciting collaboration on data protection and AI with Eura Nova. We tested machine learning and rule-based methods to check compliance of privacy policies with GDPR.”
